Position Overview
As an Installer and Technician, you will be on the front lines of implementing connectivity, security and life safety systems that keep people safe and connected. You’ll be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting a wide range of low-voltage solutions in commercial and institutional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test cabling infrastructure, security and life safety systems, including:
- Structured Cabling
- Video Surveillance (CCTV)
- Access Control
- Intrusion Detection
- Paging & Intercom Systems
- Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
- Sound Masking
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective service on installed systems
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions and connectivity issues
- Collaborate with team members on installation planning, execution, and documentation
- Provide on-site support and clear communication to clients during service calls
- Maintain project records, ensure compliance with safety standards, and represent Vigilant Connect with professionalism
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to job sites and work flexible hours as needed
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with hand tools and/or eagerness to learn and train
Preferred:
- Experience installing or servicing any of the listed systems
- Manufacturer specific or industry certifications a plus
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, NFPA, NEC)
- Safety-conscious and familiar with proper PPE use and job site protocols
